Kostas Papathanasiou is an internationally respected chef whose career has taken him through some of the world’s most celebrated kitchens. Born and raised in Greece, his cooking remains deeply connected to flavour, seasonality, and tradition yet it is forward-looking rather than nostalgic.

Kostas trained at the three-Michelin-starred The Fat Duck before taking senior roles at The Ledbury and within Jason Atherton’s The Social Company. His journey then led him to Singapore and back to London, before moving to Stockholm to join the Frantzén Group. As Executive Chef at Restaurant Frantzén, he played a key role in retaining its three Michelin stars and its position among The World’s 50 Best Restaurants.

In 2025, Kostas returned to London with his family to join us at Lita. As Culinary Director, he brings a thoughtful, ingredient-led approach that feels refined and elegant while remaining approachable. Since his arrival, we have continued to evolve while staying true to our welcoming neighbourhood spirit, proudly retaining our Michelin star in 2026, a reflection of the care, consistency, and passion he brings to the kitchen every day.
